Took a swing at my dad tonight. Answer honestly.?

Man i took a swing at my dad once and i felt really bad after it was over. I mean we were toe to toe boxing each other. It was all over his new wife( my evil stepmother god i hate her). After speaking to a friend he told me that hitting your father is the one thing you should never do because they raised you and fed you. But to me what you did seemed necessary. You only pined him down you didn't land a punch on his face or anything. I mean he was drunk and being violent. were you supposed to just let him whack you with a chair? Hold him down if necessary but don't ever hit him.
