If a best friend said something horrendously hurtful to you would you forgive if they apologized via Facebook?

2 1/2 years ago,one of my best friends went into a drunken rage (I was not drinking), and he told me that he was glad my father died (my dad died approximately 2 1/2 years prior of a sudden heart attack at the age of 43). Today he sent me a message on Facebook, apologizing for "how things ended." Would you forgive? I'm kind of torn as to what to do....
