Returning property. Who pays?

If you are divorced, then the property disbursement should be listed in the divorce decree. If those items are specifically listed in the decree as his property, then there should also be details of how and who is to pay for the return of that property to him. In most cases like this, the divorce papers will say what ever he has in his possession is his and what ever you have in your possession is yours. If that is the case, then the property is yours and nothing he can do will change that. Keep your copy of the divorce papers just in case the police show up, but in reality, the Indiana police will, at the very most, just file a report. They will not travel to Texas to arrest you and extradite you just for a stupid rocking chair. At the very worst case scenario, you probably should not go back to Indiana for 3-5 years until any possible statute of limitations has long ago past. But honestly, if he tries to report you for theft, he will probably be laughed at.
